Cecilia Zabala (1975 – present)


Cecilia Zabala was born in Arengtina and is an Argentinia guitarist and singer and composer. She is currently one of the famous singers in Argentinia music. Her music influences are from Brazilian music, tango, Argentinian folklore and jazz. Her recordings define her as an “an original, deep and “feminine” song-writer.” She also is a great guitarris playing the 7 strings guitar that combines traditional, classical and pop influences. 

In 2003, she formed the band Las Morochas in Buenos Aires with musician Ianina Pietrantonio. In 2005, they released a recording of the works of Astor Piazzolla called Milonga sin Palabras. Sine 2006, she has played internationally with “Las Morochas” as well as a soloist artist in Germany, Switzerland and Spain. In 2008-2009, she was part of “International Guitar night,” created by guitarist Brian Gore. In this event, four internationally recognized guitarist play their own music as well as collaborations with each other. In addition to tours, Cecilia also gives classes on Argentinean music, songwriting and arrangements for guitar.

In 2007, she recorded her first solo called Aguaribay. In 2008, she released her second album called Pendiente. In 2010, she did her first U.S tour with performances in Boston, New York and New Orleans. She currently released her third album called “Presente Infinito.”
